the picture on the right is the picture I based my picture off of. The second pic is the final end product of what I did. It was hard using water color for me because I couldn’t get the colors to blend very well. I like the way I could section off the different lines of color and be able to blend them together. The only thing I didn’t include was the helicopter because I felt like it wpuldnt be noticeable to what it was.

the first picture is the finished product. And the middle one is my in progress without the additional details I added. And the last pic is the start to my painting. This picture was a picture I took while I was in Cancún Mexico during Christmas. It was of the water and the palm trees and I wanted to do it because I thought it was so beautiful there and it was a place I I will never forget.
i learned it is a struggle for me to evenly shade the colors smoothly. i noticed it was very choppy and not blended very well. i also learned how to create different tints of certain colors. to make brown you have to mix orange and blue. to add a lighter shade you add a little white if you want it a little darker add some more black.
.the first picture is my linocut designs sketches. The far left picture is the official sketch picture that I picked out of my choices. And the middle picture with the blue color on it is my final product after 4 linocut cutouts.
In process I'm first going to make the lid by just cutting a line across the center of it. Then I plan on putting a few sprinkles on the top and adding a cherry to be the handle to take the lid off. I will then put a glaze on it and add a few colors to make it look like and actual slice of cake. One thing I found difficult was that I was trying to cut a line across the center of it to make the lid and it wouldn't line up with the other side when I got all the way around it, and I had to repeatedly do it. I've found making the shape itself being very successful because I've never done any pottery before and I didn't know how it would turn out. The first thing I did was make a template of what I wanted to do with the piece I then got some clay and rolled out slabs of clay to make the sides, top and bottom of the piece. I scratched and slipped on the sides and put the pieces together. Then I had to let the pieces dry completely before we could put then in the kiln to fire them. Finished pieceI will be adding a glaze to the piece as soon as I can then it will go back in the kiln to be fired again so the glaze hardens.
I think the detail was the part that ended up coming out the best. I would Maybe make it a little bigger if I were to do it again because its very small and probably wont be able to fit very much inside of it. Composition- The way in which a whole or mixture is made up.
Value- The lightness or darkness of tones or colors _______________________________________________________________________________________________-The easiest thing about the chalk was that I could get good detail into certain spots of the picture, but it was also very messy at the same time because the walk would come off on anything that touched it. -The pen was also very easy to do because it was just drawing a bunch of lines but if I wanted more detail in one spot it was a lot more difficult because I would have to draw a lot more lines in one spot to make a shadow or shade. -The pencil was the easiest because it is easy to erase and and shadow or detail to a spot. I didn't find anything to be difficult about it. My mentor was Emma Rose Decaro. She did a really cool water color painting of a bridge and water under it. And her link is http://emmarose-apex-2018.weebly.com/ she also really helped me with my picture of Mexico I was painting on adding shadows and different shades
